By using CTRL (our website at takectrl.app and our iOS or Android mobile applications, collectively the "Services"), you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.

1. What Information We Collect

CTRL can be used either anonymously or with an account. The type of data we collect depends on how you use the app.

a. Anonymous Usage Data

If you use CTRL without creating an account, we collect limited, non-identifiable data such as:

• App activity (button clicks, session duration, frequency of use)

• General device data (operating system, version, crash reports, screen size, etc.)

This helps us improve stability, performance, and the user experience.

b. Account Data

If you create a CTRL account, we may collect:

• Email address (to register and communicate with you)

• Profile information (optional: display name, avatar, or focus goals)

• Technical data, such as IP address, time zone, device type, and app version

c. Focus & Progress Data

CTRL allows you to log notes, milestones, streaks, and reflections about your screen time and focus sessions. This information is stored securely and only visible to you unless you choose to share it in community areas.

d. Subscription & Payment Data

If you subscribe to CTRL Plus, we use third-party processors to handle transactions (e.g., RevenueCat and Apple/Google In-App Payments). We do not store your credit card details.

These partners may collect:

• Your app user ID

• Subscription status and renewal data

• Transaction history (handled via Apple, Google, or RevenueCat in compliance with their respective privacy policies)

e. Crash & Performance Reports

We use anonymized crash logs to identify and fix bugs. These may include non-personal technical data about your device or recent app behavior.

2. Community Sharing (Optional)

When you reach milestones or choose to post reflections publicly:

• We may display your chosen username, profile photo, and the content you share

• You can delete or edit any shared post at any time

• Exercise caution when posting; shared content becomes visible to other users

3. Where Data Is Stored

Your information is securely stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers located in the United States.

We follow industry-standard encryption and data protection practices, including:

• TLS encryption during transmission

• Encrypted data at rest

• Regular security audits and access monitoring

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

• Operate and improve the CTRL app

• Sync and back up your progress securely

• Analyze usage trends (in aggregated, anonymized form)

• Display statistics and motivational insights (without personal identifiers)

• Communicate updates, support information, or app-related announcements

We do not sell or rent user data. Ever.

CTRL is intended for users 18 years or older.

We retain data as long as your account is active or as necessary to:

• Maintain backups (for CTRL Plus subscribers)

• Comply with legal obligations

• Improve product functionality

Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained beyond account deletion for analytics and quality improvement.

8. How to Delete Your Data

You can delete individual entries, reflections, or community posts anytime in-app.

To permanently delete your entire account and all associated data:

We'll confirm once your data has been fully erased from our systems.

9. GDPR & CCPA Rights

If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you have specific rights regarding your data. These include:

• Correction: Request updates or corrections to inaccurate information

• Restriction: Ask us to limit processing under certain conditions

• Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
